7-Eleven Allows You To “Bring Your Own Cup” for Slurpees

We have all thought about it.  What would it be like to have a bathtub filled with a Slurpee.  Well, 7-Eleven is letting you to the next best thing tomorrow.  They are calling it the “BYO Cup Day.”

From 11 AM to 7 PM Saturday, 7-Eleven will allow you to bring any container to hold your Slurpee, all for a flat price of $1.49.

7-Eleven is promoting this as a “Summer Kickoff” according to Laura Gordon, the vice president of marketing and brand innovation.  They are hoping that with your mega sized Slurpee, you also try any number of items that 7-Eleven has to offer.

Unfortunately, you can’t bring your bathtub or a trash can.  There are some rules.  Your “cup” has to be water tight, and be no larger than 10 inches in diameter. (If you can’t measure yourself, each store will have a stand next the Slurpee machine with a hole that your cup must fit through.

Realistically, you could fill up a gallon jug with Slurpee, or you could get more creative and use a hat (without pores), a trophy, or even a cooking pot.  The point is to have fun.

If you are worried about the amount of sugar content of your massive Slurpee, you can always get a sugar free flavor.

Unfortunately, the store is asking you to be sanitary about what you bring in.  Gordon is insisting “Every store has been sent the requirements and received the training.” You will not be able to fill up an old cowboy boot or gym sock, but vases, planter’s pots, and even plastic bags will be okay.
