McDonald’s has been undergoing a turnaround strategy for the last several months as same store sales have been slipping as of late.
One of the new strategies seems to be adding more meat to the quarter-pounder.
In a report from CNBC, it appears the new quarter-pounder will now come with an extra 0.25 ounces added to the beef patty before it gets cooked.
You might think that a “quarter pounder” would be just that – one quarter of a pound of beef, however this is the weight before cooking. After cooking, a quarter pounder is really only 2.8 ounces.
The extra quarter of an ounce will probably not dramatically change the overall size of the McDonald’s quarter-pounder, however it is a good change with more fast food items these days getting smaller.
