I absolutely love the chipotle sauce from Taco Bell, and have been a fan of the Chicken Chipotle Loaded Griller for many years now. I figured the new Chipotle Crispy Chicken Griller would be very much on the same level, so I was very excited to try it.
I paid $1.79.
As you can see from the picture above, this was nothing like the Chicken Chipotle Loaded Griller. I’m not sure what it was, but it definitely wasn’t very good. I’m not sure if I was getting punked by the Taco Bell kitchen staff, or if this is actually what the griller is supposed to be, but I was thoroughly disappointed.
Taco Bell describes it this way, and includes this picture:
“Features new premium all-white-meat crispy chicken that’s marinated in bold Mexican spices, rolled in a crunchy corn tortilla coating, crisped to perfection, kicked-up with creamy chipotle sauce and wrapped up in a warm flour tortilla and grilled so it’s ready to eat on-the-go!”
It is hard to see the scale of the picture, but my griller was actually on a tortilla shell the size of a tostada. The shell was only about 4-5 inches in diameter.
As you can see, it was just a tiny piece of chicken wrapped in tiny shell with almost no Chipotle sauce.
The Chipotle Crispy Chicken Griller literally took 2 bites to eat.
The only redeeming quality was the taste and breading on the chicken. It is one of the new Taco Bell chicken strips that is breaded in small pieces of tortilla chip to give it a nice crunch. The actual chicken was cooked well and tasted nice. Obviously there was nothing around it.
I’m not really sure what Taco Bell was thinking with this. This should cost 50 cents for what it is. I’m assuming the new chicken pieces are a lot higher priced than most ingredients, so with the premium chicken, they have to sacrifice on other things.
I have to cut the review short, since there isn’t anything else I can say.

I’d give this a 1/5, but there is some redemption in the chicken. Other than that, this was way too overpriced for what you get. The Chipotle Crispy Chicken Griller is basically a sample I’d expect from Costco. It shouldn’t even be put on the Dollar Craving Menu it is so small.
