In an article by Business Insider today, Taco Bell presented to investors a road map on the company’s “innovation” with pictures of some previously released items as well as a few items that we haven’t seen before.
The most notable was a picture of a taco inside a Fritos chip bag. (See Below)
(Business Insider)As you may recall, the classic image of the Taco Bell Doritos Locos Taco also has a picture of a taco inside a bag. In that case, the doritos chip bag.
Is it possible that we are going to be seeing a Fritos-shell taco in the works? It is in the realm of possibility. Taco Bell has done a ton of products using fritos, including the Beefy Fritos Burrito on the Dollar Cravings menu. Also the Fritos-Lay company and Doritos are both owned by Pepsico. It seems very likely that the rumors might be true…or this could be just ideas without much behind them.
Other notable items on this image portray an Orange Starburst freeze drink, and also there is an item titled “Catering & Delivery.” Please Taco Bell, don’t tease me like this. I’ve been advocating for delivery for a long time. I doubt this would include my regular $3 order, but would most likely be for much larger orders, but the idea of Taco Bell catering my next party would be awesome.
When Business Insider asked a Taco Bell spokesperson about the image, they were told “We’re always innovating and testing new concepts.”
That sounds like a non-answer, but who knows. We will definitely keep you updated if we hear more.
