I’ve noticed this for a few months now in my local market (Portland) that McDonald’s was offering their triple cheeseburger for $2. While the Triple Cheeseburger isn’t yet being offered nationwide, many markets can get it, so you might want to ask. Some markets are offering this for around $2.50.
The Triple Cheeseburger is just a regular cheeseburger with two slices of cheese and three beef patties. It is a pretty good deal compared to some of the more expensive burgers from McDonald’s for the same amount of meat.
The entire single, double, triple cheeseburger (and the McDouble hybrid) pricing structure has never made a lot of sense to me. Right now on most “Dollar Menu and More” McDonald’s menus, you can get a McDouble (basically two patties and one slice of cheese between them) for $1. If you don’t mind getting your hands a little messy, you can always order two McDoubles and combine them. That way you get not three, but four beef patties with two slices of cheese. Not only that, but you would also get extra condiments and buns to make your new delicious Frankenstein burger any way you like.
