After some disappointing sales numbers, Starbucks is rethinking the way they sell and keep customers. They want you to use more gift cards and mobile apps in an effort to track your coffee desires and help drive personalized promotions. In order to get you to stop paying with cash or plastic (the non-gift card kind), they are starting a new giveaway: Free Starbucks for Life.
Starting December 2 until December 25, every time you use a Starbucks gift card or a mobile phone to order, you will be entered to win. There will be a total of 10 winners, and not unlike the Taco Bell for life promotion, “for life” only means 30 years. However, you will be able to order a drink per day, and presumably only a regular size drink (you can try bringing a milk jug, but that probably won’t fly with the barristas).
I find it interesting that the promotion will only last until Christmas, considering most people buying gift cards would presumibly be giving them to loved ones on Christmas, but even so, it is a good excuse to get into a Starbucks and pay using one of their currency options.
